Project Novacity delivered

On December 13, Novacity was already officially inaugurated. in the presence of Minister-President Rudi Vervoort, Secretary of State Barbara Trachte and Mayor of Anderlecht Fabrice Cumps. Meanwhile, the project has also been completed and we are incredibly proud of the final result. The project transforms a piece of wasteland in the southwest of Anderlecht into a lively neighborhood with 16 studios for SMEs, 63 housing units and cozy communal spaces. Thanks to the extraordinary mix of functions in height, living and working each have their place on the site. 

NovaCity I is the result of a collaboration between citydev.brussels (contracting authority and promoter) and Kairos/Wolito (promoter). The design is by the temporary association of architectural firms BOGDAN & VAN BROECK, DDS+ and Atelier EOLE Paysagistes. BAM Interbuild and Galère were responsible for the construction.

This project is an important step toward more functional mix in Brussels: it mixes functions in height, resolutely breaking new ground. The conventional housing is located on the roof of the workshops in the SME park. On that roof, there are also spaces where residents can meet.
