We are excited to open the new leisure site in Zellik. After 2 years of hard work, we are proud of the final result. The new leisure center is not only a functional, but also a sustainable and future-oriented addition to the municipality of Asse.
On Saturday, September 21, 2024, the leisure site was festively opened. Commissioned by the municipality of Asse, BAM Interbuild built a new leisure center on a former vacant site next to "Den Horinck." This modern building not only replaces the functions of Den Horinck, but also adds several new facilities. For example, it houses a theater hall with stage, the local Chiro, the youth center, a new library, a cafeteria and several multipurpose rooms. In this way, the site has become a versatile meeting place for young and old.
"Previously, we had hall Den Horinck, the municipal banquet hall, and some youth club rooms. However, these were very outdated. We therefore opted for a completely new leisure center that meets today's standards. It is a sustainable building, with enough space for all the associations and the community."

With the completion of 't Gezel and its community garden, Zellik now has a modern and sustainable leisure complex where young and old can come together. BAM Interbuild is pleased to have completed this project, which will have a lasting positive impact on the community of Zellik.
A special eye-catcher is the new municipal garden, built on the site of the former soccer fields. "This garden offers a wide range of facilities: a skate park, basketball and soccer fields, a playground and picnic benches. There is also a rest area where residents can meet and children can play freely," Heyvaert said. "It has truly become a place for and by the Zellik community."
