BAM Belgium River Cleanup

On Sunday, May 18, some of our colleagues from BAM Belgium headed out for a special action on and around the water. Armed with garbage pincers and garbage bags, colleagues went canoeing and on foot up and down the Dijle in Mechelen for a large-scale river clean-up.

The result was impressive: no less than 156 kg of waste was fished out of the river. From plastic bottles and cans to heavier surreptitious waste including a bicycle and an electric scooter that we retrieved from the Dijle. But meanwhile the Dijle is cleaner again.

With this action, we at BAM Belgium underline our commitment to cleanliness, sustainability and social involvement not only on our construction sites, but also in public spaces. The combination of physical effort, teamwork and positive impact made for a successful day.

We concluded the action with a well-deserved drink by the water.
